Demolition progress as of March 31, 2026 at Lakeforest Mall, a former indoor shopping center in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The facility opened on September 12, 1978, and operated until March 31, 2023, when it closed in preparation for a redevelopment of the property.

This photo depicts a vent hole placed in the eastern wall of the Sears building, above the lower level main entrance. A hole has also been cut through a stucco facade in order to facilitate the vent hole.
