Interior of WMATA railcar 3283, on the Red Line of the Washington Metro system. This car and its mate were used to test new railcar features prior to their being sent off for rehabilitation in 2008. 3283 was fitted with longitudinal seating, lean rests, and different types of handholds, while 3282 was used as a control, with only the seat colors changed.
