Former CARTA bus 3426 is parked on the side of Dorchester Road with triangles out in North Charleston, South Carolina due to a breakdown caused by a mechanical issue. In this case, a brake chamber became stuck, and then the heat from the friction there damaged a transmission cable, rendering the bus unable to shift properly. We called out a road mechanic to look at the bus, and we ultimately returned to General Diesel to replace the brake chamber and the damaged transmission cable.
