The remains of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, approximately nine months after the MV Dali experienced a mechanical malfunction and subsequently collided with one of the bridge's support piers in the early morning of March 26, 2024, causing the complete collapse of the bridge's center truss section.
This view shows a truncated pier that marked the northeast end of the former center truss section. Prior to the collapse, this pier had two additional concrete cross bars above what is seen here. The pier is seen at its full height in this photo taken prior to the collapse.
