Ben Schumin is a professional photographer who captures the intricacies of daily life.

Arrival of former CARTA bus 3426 in Frederick, Maryland, on the evening of January 16, 2025. This was the culmination of multiple efforts to retrieve the bus from Charleston, South Carolina. After three failed attempts to drive the bus from South Carolina to Maryland under its own power, I ultimately opted to have the bus brought in on a flatbed trailer. The cost was similar to what it would take to mount another trip to Charleston, when you consider the cost of travel, lodging, meals, fuel, etc., but this also guaranteed that the bus would make it.

This photo shows the empty trailer after 3426 had been completely removed from the trailer. Former Alexandria DASH bus 83, now privately owned, is parked next to the trailer.
