The SS United States, moored in the Mobile River in Mobile, Alabama. The former ocean liner was towed to Mobile from its longtime berth in Philadelphia from February 19 to March 3, 2025 following its purchase by Okaloosa County, Florida in order to undergo environmental remediation work prior to being sunk off of the Gulf coast of Florida in order to become an artificial reef.

This view shows markings on a door in the hull plating on the port side. I do not know how old this writing is, i.e. whether it dates to the current project involving the ship, or if it is left over from past work.
