Message about the late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk on the sign for Sportsline Embroidery, a screenprinting and embroidery shop in Stuarts Draft, Virginia.
I feel like this is a good example of why people should not use their businesses to make public political stances, because now you’ve associated your brand with a specific political stance, and people might start considering that when determining where to take their business. I don’t know about you, but if I was a small business owner doing work that is politically neutral (sports embroidery knows no politics), I would want people to evaluate my business based on its own merits as a business, and not based on my personal political beliefs, which are not relevant in that context. In other words, advocate for politics in the context of your personal life, and leave your small business out of it for its own good. Charlie Kirk leaves behind a complicated legacy (and I’ll just leave it at that), but it seems like a bold move to link national politics with your small business. Hope it works out for them. I certainly wouldn’t go there with a small business, but to each their own, I suppose.
